Marianna Darlene is a Fine Art Photographer, Filmmaker, and Cinematographer based in Toronto, Canada. A recent film school graduate who just finished showcasing her erotic thriller thesis film which she wrote and directed titled “Estrangeira”. Currently, she is a member of IATSE 667 as a camera trainee and while finishing her Bachelor’s Degree in Creative Arts while working with International and local brands.

Still can’t believe this is happening and we fin

Still can’t believe this is happening and we finally started this week. My first time shooting in studio lights on film! I’m used to continuous lighting. Kind of scary lol 😂 thank god for digital tests. My first gallery show ever for my thesis graduation project and we did the test shoot and I can’t wait to share you guys this project that started as an idea early this year and asked my friend @sasha.mei to be my muse and she said yes. I am in awe of your beauty and grace. Thank you to my team who believed in me and helped me to make this dream a reality. To @kenno.the.kid for lending your talent, knowledge in tech and studio time with me. Sorry you’re stuck with me now as my go to lighting technician. To @serenamolaaaaa who never missed any of a project I do and be there to support me 100% all the time 😭😭😭 to Choco my EMS baby. Thank you @elliottmuscat for @capsul.studio and last but not the least to my Husband Jay for being the involuntary producer, driver, grip and got me ahead of time in all of what’s needed to make this dream a reality even tho we don’t see eye to eye lol 😂 ( I’m an artist and he’s a business guy so yeah ) can’t wait to execute this on a bigger studio 😭 I’m so grateful 🙏🏽

Life is full of surprises and strangers. It’s crazy to think that during our first few years on earth, we were so tiny, arriving alone or with twin, always so innocently naked, so fragile, and had to be dependent on our parents to be able to survive our early years of development and be able to make it on our own. Some of us do not have this opportunity, as our parents sacrificed these early years to give us a better fight later on, you won’t understand it at first, but when the time is right, it will unfold right before your eyes. It’s hard, but it does not break you. It made you you - strong, intelligent, indestructible, and hardheaded sometimes, of course, but you’re so resilient, and your heart is made of gold. I was one of the few lucky strangers to be touched by your kind soul. Thank you for being born today and for being my friend – no matter what our distance or if we may don’t see each other often as I like, you helped create better opportunities for the people around you.
